VUDU’s HD Selection Now Rules Them All! For Now
So apparently the studios do have it in them to provide much more HD content then they seem to want us to believe. Us being the Apple TV folks. Gizmodo reported this morning that as of this week VUDU now has over 1,000 HD titles to choose from. Vudu claims their digital library to be the largest HD library in the world (Blu-ray included). I just get the sense that this entire digital movie download industry is one big experiment to the studios. What I would be curious to know is if movies also disappear from VUDU like do from the Apple TV and if this surge in movie titles is temporary.
Head on over to Gizmodo to get the entire lowdown on VUDU’s downloads.

I do think the titles dissapear as well. I do not own VUDU, but I check the site out from time to time, and Movies like Transformers and Rattatouile disappeared around the same time they did on ATV. I am dissapointed that the giant that is Apple would fall behind in movie count to a newbie. Also if you check out PS3s Movie store, they have only 280 or so, but many good titles are not on ATV, for example, all of the Startrek Movies. ANother Nice thing about VUDU is if you buy it at Best buy for $300, you get $200 in movie credit. Also I like the HDX aspect (almost Bluray Quality).
All that said, I would not trade up my ATV for this. ATV still has better features, More TV and TV in HD. ATV is also cheaper on new releases. $5 on ATV vs. $6 on VUDU.
Apple also has the name. I just dont see why they cant have the same movies.
