Daily HD Rental Update 11-12-08
Below is the list of new HD Rentals that have been added to Apple TV.
We don’t get much today, but what we do get is awesome. Oh, and some little indie flick named Iron Man is now in HD! Get it while it’s hot folks. The way things run around here I say we have a good 5 to 6 months before HBO snatches it up!

The More You Know - Remote.app Update
I may be the last person on earth to learn of this update but I thought I would share the news. Remote.app has been updated to version 1.1.1. Most important to Apple TV owners is that all the fixes appear to be focused on connectivity with the Apple TV. So for all you Apple TV/iPhone/iPod Touch owners check your updates.

iTunes SD Rentals New Releases for 11-10-08.
We have 22 New SD Releases and 9 Removals to start the week.
There must be a huge Olsen Twin fan club out there because 7 out of the 22 New Releases star the dynamic duo!
Aside from that, we did get a few good titles like, Infamous, Blade Runner: The Final Cut, and the solitary confinement release of The Shawshank Redemption!

Hellboy II: The Golden Army and Star Wars: The Clone Wars are now available for purchase through Apple TV and the iTunes Store.
Star Wars: The Clone Wars is available now as an HD rental through the Apple TV and Hellboy II will be available for rent on 12-25-08..
Hancock, Hancock (Unrated) Now Available For Pre-Order
Hancock and Hancock (Unrated) are now available for for pre-order in the iTunes Store. The purchase release date for both versions is 11-25-08. There is currently no rental release date available.
Apple Offering Great Movies Under $5
Apple is running a new promotion in the iTunes Store offering movies for purchase under $5, or $4.99 to be exact. The list of the movies for under $4.99 is below.

New Poll - Blockbuster Looking To Enter The Set-Top Box Wars - Who’s Still Using Blockbuster?
Engadget reported today that Blockbuster maybe be entering the movie set-top-box space for this holiday season. Wow, talk about coming a little late to the fight. Engadget said it best, in some ways it makes sense with Netflix spreading it’s streaming service all over like a virus, but to only be talking about a possible set-top-box, in November, for this holiday season? Talk about a last minute decision.
This leads me to our new poll. Are you still using Blockbuster, either online or the brick and mortar flavor, as a movie rental service? Take the poll to the right and let us know what you think. Comments are always welcome.

VUDU’s HD Selection Now Rules Them All! For Now
So apparently the studios do have it in them to provide much more HD content then they seem to want us to believe. Us being the Apple TV folks. Gizmodo reported this morning that as of this week VUDU now has over 1,000 HD titles to choose from. Vudu claims their digital library to be the largest HD library in the world (Blu-ray included). I just get the sense that this entire digital movie download industry is one big experiment to the studios. What I would be curious to know is if movies also disappear from VUDU like do from the Apple TV and if this surge in movie titles is temporary.

Kung Fu Panda Now Available For Purchase…..Really!
Update - Well so much for all the excitement. Apparently Kung Fu Panda was widely released today, Sat the 8th. My usual resource for movie release dates let me down this time. But it’s still kinda cool to get a movie release on a Saturday.
Now here’s one for the record books. The iTunes Movie Store gets a new movie release for purchase days before everyone else gets it. Kung Fu Panda is not to be officially released on disc until 11-11, but as of this morning it’s on sale through the Apple TV and iTunes Movie Store. Chalk one small victory up for Apple!
No rental release date is available for this title.
