I wont for the pure reason that for archiving TV programs it just takes up too much memory for something I wont be watching over and over.
I got the free ep of the office in HD with the bonus SD version and know I will wind up deleting the HD version when i need more space for my library.
I like the HD TV Shows especially for things like Battlestar Galactica or other high quality shows.
What I hate that I also get the SD show when I purchase the HD show, I don’t need that or at least I would like to have the option to choose if I want both or not.
2.99$ for a TV show is not too much in my opinion for a HDTV show with no advertising that I can enjoy when I want.
I won’t buy them until I can do so from my apple tv. Or am I missing something? Is there an option somewhere to rent in HD?
The biggest issue for me is not being able to actually purchase the HD shows (or season passes) from the Apple TV itself! iTunes is my library, not my preferred means of purchasing content!

With file sizes that big, Apple needs to give customers a way to simply CANCEL a download without completing it. Permanently.
I won’t be buying them. I much prefer the full-quality of Blu-Ray over the convenience of low-bitrate internet-served “HD” downloads, especially when paying to own versus renting. And honestly, for as long as these episodes take to download and transfer to the Apple TV, you could drive to the store and pick up the entire season on Blu-Ray faster.
I’ll be buying a HD season pass for the upcoming seasons of “Heroes” and “The Office” as soon as they become available… they better be available shortly after broadcast though.
Downloaded “Eureka” freebie and compared to quality of same show on my HD-DVR from DirecTV and found it lacking, muddy.
I know there is a rumor of a firmware upgrade to for-real 1080p resolution. I realize these telecasts aren’t greater than 1080i; but, the resolution settings higher than 720p on the AppleTV only appear to be there to accommodate higher-res sets - not output.
I plan on renting HD series episodes of a show or two when my subjective tests tell me they’re worth watching.
I thought the quality of the HD shows was amazing. To the commenters who found the qualityblacking, are you sure you watched the HD download and not the SD? There is a bug where one show saved over the other unless you have multiple downloads ticked or start and stop each download mannually

After watching several of the free HD shows I don’t think I’ll be buying any HD shows. Honestly some of the HD shows seem to be even lower quality than some SD shows. I downloaded and watched the free Psych episode (I had never seen the show before) and I had serious audio/video syncing issues. That plus the increased download time and no ability to watch while downloading on the ATV and I see very little value for my $1 per episode.
