Great new site. Loads faster on my iPhone too, but the Flash banner image won’t show up of course.
Keep up the great work!
I have 3 more movies rented, so I’ll post my rental experiences with those once I find time to watch them (in the next 27 days…tick…tock…)

Hey, where’s the little HD number graphic? Always great for a quick update!
Comment by eddiwill — March 27, 2008 @ 12:21 pm
The HD and Genre total number are coming soon!

American Gangster has disappeared from my Apple TV. I’m not sure if it happened before or after the latest update, but a ‘Search’ will not find it now and it’s not in the Thumbnails either.

it would be nice if you had section for .99 cent movie of the week
Comment by blkpoetx — March 31, 2008 @ 1:31 am
After seeing Aliens of the Deep multiple times this weekend, you are right, it’s gone. Another Apple disappearance special.
Also, regarding the $.99 movie of the week. I personally don’t see the benefit in having a list of the previous weeks since you can only rent the current weeks movie. What we might do is have a permanent posting in the right hand column of the current $.99 movie of the week.

If you post the currently available 99-cent movie-of-the-week, I will have *no choice* but to make a donation to support this great web site! Keep up the great work!

It looks like Talk to Me has been pulled.

Flowerfeeder is right. Thanks for looking out.

Any chance you could keep a list of the movies that have gone “poof” from the AppleTV and iTunes. It would really help us keep track of what movies are disappearing, how often, and if they EVER happen to come back or are just gone for good… Thanks!

It would be nice if your RAA feed would let me see the actual text of the fed instead of just the title of it.

Hey, your HD list’s genres are out of whack.
http://www.appletvjunkie.com/hd-movies
Die Hard with a Vengeance is called “Scifi”,
and Fantastic Four Silver Surfer is “Action Adventure”.
….I didn’t check any others.
Your Genre page is fine for those 2, too.
Great site btw.

Your site was just what I was looking for….Thanks for publishing your HD lists.

One thing that bothers me every time I come to the site is the list of the total movies on the right hand column. I wish they were links to the lists of titles so I don’t have to scroll up to the top - everything else in the right hand column that is gray text a link except the movie totals - a little inconstant IMO.

AppleTV 2.0.2 update today! Anyone know what it does yet?

Great site and well put together, just a thought, for you to mull over, after renting numerous HD titles and being extremely impressed, I feel there are definite differences between the the “HD”ness of the rentals. This is down to the encoding I know, but I wondered if any other readers felt the the same and whether this website could be used as a vehicle to let others know what picture/sound quality (subjective I know) they may expect from the particular rentals. Not how good the movie is, but how it presents on our various systems. Such a tool could (very long shot) make those responsible for the encoding take a bit more care as we as consumers do value quality. It was watching Atonement (great film) in HD that prompted me to write this post, as I felt it wasn’t anywhere as crisp as the other HD rentals I have had and panning shots seemed to jerk. I am interested to hear others thoughts on this, is it just me?. As an idea could such a rating system be built into the film listing section?

I love your website. It has been really helpful, except that several movies I wanted to watch do not seem to be available even though they are on your site. Most recently (and this one used to be for sure), i tried to rent Ratatouille last night and it was nowhere to be seen. I looked alphabetically, I looked in “kids and family” and i did a search. The movie is gone. Seems odd since this movie is even on the Apple TV packaging. Any idea where it went or if/when it will come back?
Comment by BWF — April 28, 2008 @ 12:47 pm
BWF, thanks for pointing that out about you Ratatouille. Apple has been known to remove movies for no good reason and without notification. For us, it’s always been easier to add movies then find the removed titles. We try and invoice the entire movie list about once a month but we might have to make this a more frequent practice.

Nice new Icon by the way. I re-bookmarked it on my iPhone.

A while ago you were having trouble posting your “AppleTV Experience Reviews” chart, and shortly after that it disappeared completely.
I just wanted to know if it would be returning anytime, as I found it interesting to read and post to.
Thanks
YodaMac
