Below are some frequently asked questions we get from time to time either about the Apple TV or our site. If you have a question about a subject that’s not covered below, please email us and we will try to give you answer.
What is Apple TV Junkie?
Due to the lack of a complete Hi-Def movie list, ATVJ was created to fill a void left by Apple Inc. when Apple TV 2.0 was released. Our goal is to provide Apple TV users the most comprehensive list of HD movies available.
Why don’t you list all movies available for the Apple TV?
At one point, ATVJ tracked all SD and HD rental movies available for the Apple TV. But once Apple added all of the purchase titles, it became a little too much to track all those titles due to our limited resources.
Why do movies seem to disappear from Apple TV?
No one knows for certain but we believe that it is a combination of the studios pulling titles at their discretion and the newer movie release title rights reverting over to premium cable channels such as HBO, Showtime and Starz. So once it’s time for the movies to premiere on those channels they become purchase only titles or disappear altogether.
Can I Rent or Purchase movies from ATVJ?
Yes, kind of. Through our HD Movie list and off of the homepage, we offer direct links of listed movies into the iTunes Movie Store.
Is ATVJ maintained 24/7?
All though we update the site as often as possible, everyone who works on ATVJ has a day job so there may be times when we don’t get to an update as quickly as we would like to.
What happened to the ATVJ Podcast?
The podcast is in a bit of a hiatus right now. We thought our limited resources would be better put to use to further improve the site for our visitors. We will continue the podcast at a future date.
