Apple TV app?

I was thinking over the weekend, with the coming app store, why not an Apple TV app? Think about it; from your iPhone or iPod touch queue up a movie you want to rent or buy and have it waiting for you when you get home. The question is; Are there any other uses for this app?  What do you think, tell me below.

I was thinking with the advent of 3G they might indeed add movie and TV purchases/rentals to the iTunes app. Download them to the iPhone/touch and either watch them there, or sync them to iTunes/AppleTV later.

Would be cool to have an Apple TV app that notified u about new releases. Kinda like the RSS feed i get from ATVJ. Maybe could show new releases and have a small image of the movie with links to trailer or just some info about movie.

Just an idea :)

I would like to see 3rd party apps for the AppleTV as long as it was done like the iPhone app store.
