New purchase titles Wanted, The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian and The X-Files: I Want To Believe are all now available for purchase and download through the Apple TV and iTunes Store.

Wanted will be available for rent on 1-15-08 and The X-Files: I Want To Believe will be available for rent on 12-31-08. There is no rental date for Prince Caspian.

So much for those under $5 movies, it looks like Apple is changing it up a bit and offering a set of great movies under $10 this week. The list of this weeks movies are listed below. The chosen titles are actually not so bad, but $10 for iTunes SD quality, I’m not so sure.

The Fifth Element is the $.99 movie of the week for the week of 12-02-08.

For those of you still holding back on installing the latest and greatest version of the cutting edge media center for fear of bricking your Apple TV, we may have the solution for you. At Boxee on Apple TV you can purchase a NEW boxed Apple TV with the Boxee software preloaded on it. So for $250 you get the 40gig flavor of the Apple TV with the Boxee software pre-installed. No muss, no fuss. Of course if for whatever reason Boxee is not to your liking you can revert back to the factory Apple TV operating system. On the flip side, should Apple release it’s next update and it wipes out your Boxee install your kinda up the creek also.

This weekend I happened to be recording the latest version of the ATVJ Podcast and I had the need to reference more information about Boxee, which I didn’t have in front of me of course, so I thought once I had the chance I would share a couple of Boxee resources I use with everyone here at ATVJ.

The first resource would be the Boxee Blog. The tag line at the top of the site says it all, the most reliable source for all things Boxee. Here you can find regular updates on the happenings with the developement of Boxee whether they be changes to the latest build or find out when the newest version will be hitting the street.

The second resource I would recommend would be Twitter. You can find Boxee on twitter at, well, twitter.com/boxee. If you feel the need to ask the founder of Boxee a question or request a new feature, this might be the place to do it. So if you haven’t joined Twitter and you want the latest on Boxee this might be the reason to start, aside from following ATVJ of course.

With the popularity of Boxee growing every day and the want and need to squeeze more functionality our of the Apple TV, we here at ATVJ will be keeping a close eye on everything Boxee and we look forward to the next great version on December 4th.
