First, we’ve finally completed the update to our listed HD content with our HD Podcast page. We will be listing the Top 10 HD podcasts as listed by the Apple TV with cover art and direct links to the podcasts in the iTunes Store.
Second, we’ve created a proper iPhone/iPod Touch interface for the website. We’ve decided to go with the WPTouch plug-in for WordPress Templates. We thought this would be the next best thing to a proper iPhone/iPod Touch app. The interface provides all of our website information in an easy to read iPhone/iPod Touch friendly format. You can view a few screen caps below. Give it a spin if you have a chance and let us know if you have any problems.

The Unofficial Apple Weblog conducted an interview with the creators of Boxee which revealed that the next major update to the open source media center is coming on December 4th. One of the fixes this update will address is the performance quality of Hulu on the Apple TV. One of the top requested features to be integrated into the Apple TV, not part of the December 4th update, is Netflix integration which the Boxee team is focused on making happen. The development team is also interested in working on a remote app, similar to Apple’s Remote.app, for Boxee.
You can get all the details of the interview, along with invites to the Boxee alpha, by heading over to The Unofficial Apple Weblog.

VUDU continues to make its push to stay competitive in the digital media download space by increasing its functionality to include YouTube and Flickr integration, both of which you could already find on the Apple TV. Other added functionality is Picasa integration and basic game play. With this new functionality along with it’s new HDX (Blu-ray quality) high def downloads and claim to have the largest HD movie catalog including Blu-ray, VUDU is staying very competitive amongst the digital download boxes.
At this point, for Apple and the Apple TV to stay competitive, making some kind of deal with the studios for same day as release of digital movie rentals, HD purchases, TV rentals and even game integration would be where I would like to see Apple go.
