Below is the list of SD Rentals that have been added and/or removed from iTunes as of 8-28-08.
Looks like today’s theme of New Releases are, cheesy action movies mixed in with old classics, and a couple of odd ones thrown in. What’s really odd is that The Perfect Witness was already available for rent, but for what ever reason, it was added again to the rental list! So now we have a duplicate of the same movie! I guess they really want to make sure you don’t miss this one!
As I was writing my post about the Wall-E and Incredible Hulk DVD release dates, and mentioned the fact that each would come with a Digital Copy, I began to wonder if anyone is even using these Digital Copy versions? I would imagine a Digital Copy would be convenient for watching on an iPhone or iPod. But, do you see a Digital Copy as enough of an incentive that you’ll buy the DVD when otherwise you wouldn’t have or is it just convenient bonus material? [JoBlo.com] Oh we can only dream that one day we will be reading about the AVD (Apple Video Download) release dates of summer blockbuster movies, instead of only hoping that a DVD release date means the same for us Apple TV users.
Earlier this week the release dates for both Wall-E and The Incredible Hulk were announced. We can expect Wall-E on DVD, and being a Disney/Pixar creation on Apple TV, on November 18th. The Incredible Hulk will be released on October 21st. One way we should be able to confirm that both the Hulk and Wall-E will be released same day on Apple TV is that both will have a Mac and PC compatible Digital Copy attached to ethers respective disc. Now bring on The Dark Knight!
Apple Movie Junkie, formerly Apple TV Junkie, is the official blog of Cinemira. We provide a helpful service for users of the iTunes Movie Store and the Apple TV. AMJ was born out of a surprising shortcoming on the Apple TV after noticing that there was no easy way to find a list of all new HD & SD rental titles released on a daily basis. AMJ fills that niche with a daily list of new movies.
