Over at Engadget they are reporting that LG’s new BD3000 will be able to stream Netflix instant watch. You will be able get HD movies on Blu ray and some SD content via netflix for under 500 bucks. It’s becoming more and more apparent people are embracing the idea of downloadable content for entertainment, and that’s a good thing for Apple TV fans. I hope with more companies jumping on streaming and DL content Apple might take the ATv more serious than a “hobby”. Let’s hope the product transitions coming in September have something special in store for all of us Apple TV fans, or Apple might be on the outside looking in.
As expected Vantage Point is now available as a rental and in HD on the Apple TV. Along with Vantage Point we also get these 6 new additions to the HD list:

The Dirty Dozen: Fatal Mission
The Right Stuff
The Wiggles: You Make Me Feel Like Dancing
The big draw of the Apple TV for a lot of us is the capability to view HD content and rent or purchase feature length movies. But, how important is the non-HD content that is offered on the Apple TV to you? Other then feature length movies, are you purchasing TV Shows, TV Series, Music or Music Videos through the Apple TV? If you have a second take the poll in the right hand column and let us know.
I happened to be listing to the live netcast of MacBreak Weekly today when the subject of the Apple TV and aTV came up. Both Merlin Mann and Leo Laporte spoke highly of the 3.2 update. Merlin Mann wrote a nice little review over at 43 Folders covering the new aTV features you get with the 3.2 update. He even goes on to say that he had considered moving over to a Mac Mini until he began to use the new aTV update.
Head on over to 43 Folders to read his entire post about.
Apple Movie Junkie, formerly Apple TV Junkie, is the official blog of Cinemira. We provide a helpful service for users of the iTunes Movie Store and the Apple TV. AMJ was born out of a surprising shortcoming on the Apple TV after noticing that there was no easy way to find a list of all new HD & SD rental titles released on a daily basis. AMJ fills that niche with a daily list of new movies.
